Family
We understand that parents are the primary educators, therefore our parents are expected to directly impact their young leader(s) education. Our campus encourages education for the entire family to strengthen the family unit at its core.
Physical Fitness & Education
All of our young leaders are expected to build and maintain physical fitness with lots of opportunities to be physically active at our campus. We believe that being physically fit and eating healthy promotes positive mental health, and our young leaders learn and understand the physiology of their body to make informed healthy choices and be the best version of themselves.
Freedom & Sovereignty
By changing what education looks like, we are bringing freedom and sovereignty back into education, by giving our young leaders and their families the power to create their own learning journey. We believe that every young leader is unique and deserves the ability to carve their own path when exploring the world.

Samantha Smith
Owner & Spark Crew Coach
Samantha holds a post-graduate certificate in education and brings extensive experience working with children, parents and school teams. After over a decade of teaching in the classroom and coaching teachers by providing professional development experiences, Samantha has recently left the public system to help change what education looks like-moving toward a model that is purposeful, empowering and built around character and real-world capability. Samantha applies her knowledge, expertise and commitment to learning, to implement best practices surrounding children’s physical, mental and emotional health into the children, coaches and families of Apogee Calgary.
Founder’s Story
Apogee Calgary began with a simple moment: watching my two young daughters grow and realizing the world they’re inheriting is changing faster than ever. As a mom, I want them to be confident, capable, grounded, and ready for anything. But as a certified Alberta teacher, I know the traditional school system wasn’t built for that anymore.
I have lived it, day-in and day-out—overcrowded classrooms, overwhelmed teachers, and a curriculum that no longer reflects the skills or values today’s kids truly need. It felt like the system was drifting further away from real learning and real life. And I couldn’t just hope it would fix itself.
So I stepped out of the classroom and into a mission.
Apogee Calgary was born from one core belief:
If we want stronger kids, we must build stronger families, stronger values, and a stronger community around them.
Here, learning is hands-on.
Parents are partners.
And children grow through challenge, responsibility, leadership, and real-world experience—not worksheets.
My daughters inspired me to create the kind of environment I wished existed for them… and now for every family who is searching for more than the standard path.
Apogee Calgary is that “more.”
